Workflow Guide

Getting Started with OrderBridge

Get up and running in minutes. This guide walks you through connecting your Etsy shop, setting up SKU matching, and syncing your first orders.

Quick Setup (5 Minutes)

Four simple steps to start syncing orders

1

Install from Shopify App Store

Find OrderBridge in the Shopify App Store and click Install. The app will automatically set up webhooks and create your dashboard.

  • Search "OrderBridge" in the Shopify App Store
  • Click "Add app" and approve the permissions
  • You'll be redirected to your OrderBridge dashboard
2

Connect Your Etsy Shop

Link your Etsy account using secure OAuth authentication. OrderBridge never sees your Etsy password.

  • Click "Connect Etsy" in your dashboard
  • Log in to Etsy and approve the connection
  • You'll be redirected back to OrderBridge

Tip: Make sure you're logged into the correct Etsy account before connecting. You can only connect one Etsy shop per Shopify store.

3

Set Up SKU Matching

SKUs are how OrderBridge links Etsy orders to the correct Shopify products. Matching SKUs enables proper inventory tracking and product mapping.

  • Go to the Etsy SKU Management page
  • Review your Etsy listings and their current SKUs
  • Choose your sync direction:

Option A: Push Shopify SKUs → Etsy
Best if Shopify is your primary inventory system. Your Shopify SKUs will be copied to matching Etsy listings.

Option B: Push Etsy SKUs → Shopify
Best if you started on Etsy first. Your Etsy SKUs will be copied to matching Shopify products.

Important: SKUs must match exactly between platforms for orders to sync correctly. Take time to verify your mappings before going live.

4

Choose Your Import Mode

Decide how orders should flow from Etsy to Shopify:

  • Live Import (Default): Orders sync immediately when detected. Best for speed.
  • Delayed Import: Orders wait for the browser extension to capture customer email and full shipping address. Best for data completeness.

You can change this anytime in Settings. If you want complete customer data for marketing and Judge.me reviews, we recommend Delayed Import with the browser extension.

Tip: Read our Delayed Import Guide to understand the benefits of capturing full customer data.

Your First Order Sync

What happens when an Etsy order comes in

Automatic Detection

OrderBridge polls your Etsy shop for new orders. Active shops are checked every 5 minutes. When a new order is found:

  • Order details are captured (items, quantities, pricing)
  • Products are matched to Shopify using SKUs
  • The order is created in Shopify (or held for delayed import)
  • You'll see it in your dashboard immediately

Order Statuses Explained

  • Pending Shopify: Waiting for address capture (delayed import mode)
  • Imported: Order created in Shopify, awaiting fulfillment
  • Synced: Order synced and ready to ship
  • Fulfilled: Tracking number added in Shopify
  • Delivered: Package delivered to customer

Manual Import Option

Need to import a specific order immediately? Use the "Import Receipt" button in your dashboard header. Enter the Etsy receipt ID and the order will be queued for import.

Tip: Find the receipt ID in the Etsy order URL. It's the number after "/receipts/" (e.g., etsy.com/your-shop/receipts/1234567890)

Optional: Browser Extension

Enhance your workflow with one-click convenience

Why Use the Extension?

Etsy's API doesn't provide complete shipping addresses or customer email addresses. The browser extension solves this by capturing data directly from your Etsy order pages.

  • Capture full addresses: Get complete shipping info for Shopify
  • Capture customer emails: Enable Judge.me reviews and marketing
  • Push tracking to Etsy: One-click tracking number updates
  • Batch processing: Handle multiple orders quickly
